St. Mary’s Community Hospital is a Catholic hospital run and owned by the Sisters of Divine Providence. The Hospital was officially opened on 1st February 2021. The hospital has 36 beds and operates as a primary referral facility.
To ensure that the facility has a system of rules and practices and processes by which the facility is directed and controlled, the hospital has a top management committee. The hospital’s unitary management committee comprises of the sister in charge, senior hospital administrator, the medical officer, the nursing officer, the administrative officer, human resources officer, and the accountant. This composition ensures that there is a balanced mix of technical, entrepreneurial, holistic and business skills to guide the operations of the hospital. The committee meets at least once a month. Effective and efficient communication and monitoring systems are put in place to ensure that management committee receives information that is accurate, relevant and well detailed to guide them in making necessary strategic decisions and provide effective leadership, set and guide the strategic direction of the facility’s operations. The management committee also ensures that there is total compliance with all legal, ethical, holistic, and regulatory bodies.
